Fruitive Launches 30-Day Intermittent Fasting Challenge

This week Fruitive launched their Intermittent Fasting Challenge, a 30-day health program that offers participants tailored organic meal plans, as well as discounted fitness options throughout Hampton Roads. The wellness program is spearheaded by Fruitive owner, Gregg Rozeboom, and monitored by Jennifer Van Horn, Fruitive’s in-house nutritionist.

Fruitive’s Intermittent Fasting Challenge follows a procedure known as the 16/8 Method, a schedule that limits participants' daily eating period to an 8 hour window between noon and 8 p.m. During the remaining 16 hours, participants in the challenge are required to fast.

Intermittent fasting has been reported as being successful in the facilitation of weight loss, reduced inflammation, cancer prevention, increased brain health, anti-aging effects, improved heart health and increased insulin resistance. Van Horn explains that intermittent fasting should not be viewed as a chance to eat whatever you want, however, but as the opportunity to use the designated eating and fasting times to balance calories and maintain proper nutrition.

Local fitness studios such as Pure Barre, Fit36, TidalWheel, Hot House Yoga and Clean Living by Brooke Housh have partnered with Fruitive to encourage a healthy diet balanced with physical fitness.

“Our approach to Fruitive focuses on both community and living well,” explains Rozeboom. “Whether guests want to simply eat cleaner or if they’re looking to kick their new year into gear with intermittent fasting, Fruitive strives to provide our community with a chance to come together, eat well and live well.”

Participants can gain access to the detailed food plan, nutrition workshops, healthy living blogs, exclusive discounts and more when they RSVP to the Fruitive event.

Fruitive has several locations in both Virginia Beach and Norfolk.
