2019 Giving Back and Community Impact Awards Reception

2020 Giving Back and Community Impact Awards Reception

Coastal Virginia Magazine staff, honorees and guests gathered at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Virginia Beach on Nov. 7, 2019 for our annual Giving Back and Community Impact Awards celebrating area nonprofits and businesses that make a difference in our community.

Top honorees for Giving Back were the Navy Special Operations Foundation (third place), Daniel’s Grace (second place) and Equi-Kids (first place). In all, 24 nonprofits were recognized along with 20 regional businesses. The event also included a special recognition for Virginia Beach First Responders in the wake of the Virginia Beach Municipal Center tragedy in May 2019.

Guests enjoyed refreshments provided by Yummy Goodness in the MOCA atrium and had an opportunity to view the museum’s ongoing exhibits Charged and Michael Kagan: I Was There When It Happened, both on view through Feb. 16, 2020.

Special thanks to our Giving Back Awards sponsor Old Point National Bank for their support of this event and the organizations it honors.
