A Look Inside Stone 4 Kitchen and EZ Cabinetry

Since 2007, Stone 4 Kitchen has been making dream kitchens and bathrooms a reality. At the helm of the operation is owner Nora Munkh, who built the business from the ground up and launched a second company, EZ Cabinetry, in 2018 to expand the products and services they could offer customers. With Hampton and Chesapeake showrooms housing both companies, and a new location opening soon in Richmond, Stone 4 Kitchen and EZ Cabinetry are thriving.

Boasting the largest showroom and design center in Coastal Virginia, these sister companies offer customers high quality products and quick service due to the expansive inventory, including more than 1,600 slabs and approximately 50,000 square feet of cabinetry, it keeps in stock. As an in-house supplier and fabricator, they purchase materials in very large quantities, and fast turnarounds and affordable pricing are the result.

“Unlike other places we can show customers the full slab, rather than a small sample,” says Dimitry Simon, general manager at Stone 4 Kitchen. “Our large inventory is our strength because we don’t have to order.”

It is no wonder Stone 4 Kitchen and EZ Cabinetry have a loyal customer base. “The two companies have a symbiotic relationship allowing us to customize kitchens and bathrooms,” says Simon.

Visiting the showrooms and slab yard give customers an up close look at the remarkable selections, from a wide variety of natural stone slabs—including Granite, Marble, Soapstone and Quartzite—to engineered stone options like Quartz. And the showroom displays, which feature a number of full-sized kitchens, highlight diverse designs ranging from classic styles to more modern trends, such as running stone up the wall in place of a tile backsplash.

To stay at the forefront of their industry, they utilize the latest technology as shown with the recent addition of the BACA Miter Saw, to their production process, further advancing cutting capabilities. In addition, Munkh occasionally travels abroad to explore stones and find design inspiration, and the team regularly attends trade shows.

This family-owned business began with only a handful of employees in a tiny backroom shop and has grown to around 50 employees, including Munkh’s husband, the chief operating officer for Stone 4 Kitchen, and her nephew, who manages nearly every aspect of EZ Cabinetry. While Munkh remains at the heart of the business, she relies heavily on her dedicated team to make it all work and treats her staff like family.

“Nora understands how to run a household and a business,” says Gina Hudson, designer and sales manager at EZ Cabinetry. “She is understanding about taking time off, the importance of work-life balance and has an open door policy. She’s a strong, empowered woman.”

The team admits that this is a workplace where everybody wears many hats. But they also make time for fun. The hardworking staff enjoys perks such as daily company-provided lunches, teambuilding events and even a traveling volleyball team.

“Here you will find personable service and a very family-oriented company with prices that are hard to beat,” says Nicole Taugner, operations manager at Stone 4 Kitchen.
