At a press conference in September, representatives of the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center (JCOC), the city of Virginia Beach and others gathered to announce that the JCOC has raised more than 80% of the $14 million goal for its Help. Hope. Healing. Capital Campaign to provide funding to build 38 affordable housing units on its Virginia Beach campus.

Once completed, the funds will be used to replace the currently outdated and inefficient campus, located blocks from the Oceanfront on Virginia Beach Boulevard, allowing JCOC to dramatically increase the number of people it leads out of hunger and homelessness. With support from the City of Virginia Beach, local businesses and philanthropic leaders, construction is scheduled to begin in 2023.
