North End Bags Turns 10

Since North End Bag Co. started creating hand-crafted canvas and leather goods in its tiny shop in Virginia Beach’s ViBe Creative District in 2012, you might say the cat has gotten out of the bag. These days, you’d be hard-pressed to spend a few hours out and about in VB or around Coastal Virginia without spotting one of their sturdy, stylish “Leona” bags strapped over someone’s shoulder.

The company recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with a party and a plethora of new releases including the “Flora” mini backpack. If you missed it, not to worry, stop by and browse their collection or watch their craftspeople hard at work at the sewing tables. Built for quality, strength and durability, these bags are meant to last, but North End’s most notable contribution might be to the growing sense of community and creativity in the surrounding district.
