Your investment deserves Presidential treatment from W.T. Anderson
Local roofing company honored as top 1% in the nation | Triple Excellence Award | Customer Protection Excellence | Training Excellence
After recently attending the GAF Conference & Expo in San Diego, California, Tom and May Anderson of W.T. Anderson Corporation brought back some valuable industry insights. More importantly, they took home the GAF President’s Club Award, which is the highest designation a GAF Master Elite contract can earn.
In 2021, W.T. Anderson received the GAF Triple Excellence Award, which elevated the company above being a Master Elite contractor. In order to receive the Triple Excellence Award, GAF looks at key criteria: First, Customer Protection Excellence to see how customers are responding to surveys about their experience with the company. Second, Installation Excellence that ensures customers continue to be happy about their experience after the installation. Third, Training Excellence, where training is provided for company employees directly by GAF representatives.
“People will tell you that roofers are a dime a dozen,” says May. “But we really try to add value through understanding our customers’ needs and going the extra mile. We work very hard to satisfy our customers daily, so it was really important for us to get the President’s Award. We’re doing a lot of great things to make sure we stand out from the rest!”
Only three percent of roofing con- tractors qualify for GAF Master Elite status. A much smaller percentage earns the President’s Award.
Here are some other interesting items Tom and May brought back from the conference:
- GAF, the largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturer in North America, is now producing Timberline SolarTM shingles that not only shed water and are wind resistant up to 130 miles per hour, they provide solar power to homes without heavy tiles or solar panels that need to be mounted to the roofing system. These should be available to consumers in 2023.
- GAF has created a patented shingle recycling process that has successfully produced the industry’s first asphalt roofing shingles containing recycled material from post -manufacture waste shingles that may have otherwise gone to landfills.
- There are now more women than ever working in the roofing industry.
“We have a project manager and a production manager working for us that are both women,” says May, who is President and Chief Financial Officer of the husband-and-wife-owned roofing company. “The conference made everyone aware of the number of women who are running roofing companies and are a big part of the roofing industry now.”
