Here are a few spots where you can pick your own strawberries in Coastal Virginia. Be sure to check with each farm for details, times and dates. These weather-dependent seasonal crops, costs and services vary from year to year. 

 

Historic Greenbrier Farms

225 Sign Pine Rd., Chesapeake

Ever notice that rustic white farmhouse with the giant American flag on your way to the Outer Banks? Pick strawberries and check out their farm market, garden center and special events.

 

Mount Pleasant Farms

2201 Mount Pleasant Rd., Chesapeake

Fresh strawberries are available for picking from mid-April to mid-June. They also have a peach orchard and country store offering baked goods, dairy and more.

 

Lilley Farms

2800 Tyre Neck Rd., Chesapeake

Get your juicy Chandler strawberries, perfect for fresh eating and preserving, homemade strawberry jam, syrup, pepper jam and more at Lilley Farms, family-owned since 1919.

 

Hickory Ridge Farms

2928 S Battlefield Blvd, Chesapeake

In addition to public picking, Hickory Ridge is also a popular destination for school field trips where students can pick their own strawberries to take home. They also have local honey.

 

Brookdale Farm

2133 Mount Pleasant Rd., Chesapeake

2060 Vaughan Rd, Virginia Beach

A favorite among locals, Brookdale’s two locations are well-known strawberry fields that are open to the public. The Virginia Beach location is near the Military Aviation Museum.

 

Cullipher Farm

772 Princess Anne Rd., Virginia Beach

This popular farm has fresh strawberries throughout the spring, or you can check out their landmark roadside market for strawberries and other pre-picked fruits and veggies.

 

Flanagan Farm

1707 Princess Anne Rd., Virginia Beach

Available from April through early June, Flanagan Farm at Pungo Ridge has two acres of you-pick strawberry fields, or you can purchase pre-picked quarts.

 

Henley Farms

3513 Charity Neck Rd., Virginia Beach

This Virginia Beach gem is family-owned and operated, run by four generations and counting. Just remember to bring your own containers!

 

Wood’s Orchards

163 E Mercury Blvd., Hampton

They might be famous for their peaches, but you can get plump, delicious fresh strawberries from this Peninsula favorite, family-owned and operated since 1943.

 

MillFarm Christmas Trees & Berry Farm

4900 Fenton Mill Rd., Williamsburg

With goodies available all year round, MillFarm has pick-your-own strawberries available through the month of May. Come back for those Christmas trees in December.

 

Browder’s Fresh Pickins

14489 Bethel Church Ln., Smithfield

For just $10 a bucket (they provide the baskets), you can pick your own at this Smithfield favorite. Things are sure to be buzzing with their very own bumblebee pollinators.
