According to a recent study conducted by Clemson University, improving your home’s landscaping from “average” to “excellent” can increase the home’s value by 10 to 12 percent. Depending on the size of the property, that number can grow (bigger is better), and it can also go up based on the type of plants you include, if you add hardscaping, and several other factors.

The bottom line is, if you want to add beauty, curb appeal, and value to your property, landscaping is a great investment. Whether if you are an avid do-it-yourselfer or you’re looking for professional help with the design and installation, Jack Frost Landscapes and Garden Center can help you transform your property into a beautiful retreat.

Let’s start with foliage. The Jack Frost Garden Center, located at 3168 Holland Road in Virginia Beach offers a full line of in-season plants, gardening tools, and décor to inspire your greatest masterpiece. If you’re not sure what you want to choose or what will work well with other plants in your masterplan, you can make an appointment to have professional designers come to your home, survey your property, and develop a blueprint for your yard’s makeover. This could include suggestions for hardscaping elements to help improve the flow of the property’s design, including a custom patio, walkways, retaining walls, or a fire pit.

Next, Jack Frost offers a variety of bulk materials that you can order and have delivered, or that will be part of the design outline they create for you. Bulk materials can include premium mulch, screened topsoil, stone, boulders, compost, and/or sand. Need firewood to set up your new firepit? They can also deliver high-quality firewood to enhance the warmth and ambiance of cloudy days or cool evenings.

Once your landscaping transformation is complete, Jack Frost then offers maintenance services that can include regular visits during the warmer months to keep your lawn beautifully manicured and healthy, in addition to pruning and raking services in the fall, and bed cleanup and re-mulching services in the spring. This will help wake up your landscaping after a long winter’s nap and prepare it to look its best for the upcoming blooming season.

Jack Frost Landscapes and Garden Center owner Dave Dubinsky has been serving Coastal Virginia since 1983, beginning as a Norfolk Firefighter (where he served until retiring in 2009) and doing side hustles when off duty. In 1985, he established Jack Frost Firewood and soon after added bulk deliveries of screened topsoil, stone, mulch, and sand. By 2000, the business had grown into an award-winning company, Jack Frost Landscapes. Seven years later, he opened the Garden Center to complete his vision of creating beautiful, sustainable outdoor spaces. In 2012, he further expanded their expertise by adding the commercial lawn and maintenance division.

Today, Jack Frost is a well-known and respected company based on Dubinsky’s commitment to quality products and customer service. “We’re not like a lot of people who just get the job done and move on,” says Dubinksy. “We do quality work one job at a time, where most outfits will try to do multiple jobs at once. We’re a big stickler about quality, and that’s what I always want to provide to our clients. That’s why our tagline is ‘Where creativity and quality meet.’”
