Coastal Virginia Magazine’s annual Best Of Party was held on Thursday, July 25 at Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center in Downtown Norfolk. Partygoers enjoyed an evening of Sizzle, Salsa and Swoon as the event themed Hot Havana Nights celebrated the magazine’s Best Of Readers’ Choice Awards winners.
Guests wore la flamenca and cocktail dresses, fedoras, floral shirts and bright colors and danced to rhythmic Latin music from Tumbao’Salsero; posed in front of a green screen with a faux Coastal Virginia Magazine cover and played casino games from Premier Events; enjoyed comical portraits from Bob Langston Caricatures; purchased superb cigars from Emerson’s Cigars; savored a complimentary glass of rosé from Williamsburg Winery; and received a free one-year subscription to Coastal Virginia Magazine.
Two lucky attendees dressed in their finest received a special best costume giveaway prize for $500 flight vouchers courtesy of Norfolk International Airport. Guests also entered a raffle to win a 1-carat solitaire necklace from Boyer’s Diamonds worth $5,765 with proceeds benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Virginia.
During the party, top-notch local restaurants served fantastic fare, including Freemason Abbey, TASTE, La Bella Italia, Egg Bistro, The Vanguard Brewpub and Distillery, Lolly’s, Kahiau’s Bakery & Café, Primo Pizzeria E Ristorante, Swan Terrace, Rajput Indian Cuisine, Harvest and Twisted Sisters. Attendees voted for their favorite foods during the evening, with Swan Terrace being honored for best dish.
