Founded in 1728, Norfolk Academy is a co-educational day school serving grades 1-12 in three divisions: Lower, Middle, and Upper. The school has a rich history and a well-defined philosophy. The school is located in Norfolk, Virginia, on a beautiful 64-acre campus.

Honor Code
Our most cherished and one of our longest-standing traditions is our Honor Code. Each member of the Norfolk Academy community commits to behaving honorably in all school activities and programs. Being truthful helps build a community of trust. It is in this environment that the Honor System helps students and all members of our community strengthen and advance their ethical development and their capacity to make sound, moral, and mature decisions about matters of right and wrong.
Athletics
Norfolk Academy’s comprehensive athletic program features 74 interscholastic teams for grades 7 – 12. Teams compete in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools, the League of Independent Schools, and the Virginia Prep League.
The combination of sportsmanship, talented athletes and hard work result in many competitive triumphs, and we send our share of graduating seniors to play on NCAA Division I and III teams.
The Arts
Norfolk Academy is dedicated to providing an outstanding education and experience for students in the performing and visual arts. Our goal is to foster a lifetime appreciation of the arts through creation, performance, and observation. A broad range of arts offerings in every division helps our students develop their own special artistic interest on a journey of self-discovery.
