Arts + Eats Walking Tour in ViBe Creative District

While simultaneous eating and talking almost always gets a bad rap, a new Virginia Beach tour proves eating and walking can be a most favorable—and flavorful—activity. The ViBe Creative District nonprofit, in partnership with Taste Virginia Food, Wine, Brewery & Spirits Tours, began offering a monthly Arts + Eats Walking Tour this fall.

The approximately 4-hour tour begins at Hearth Wood Fired Cuisine & Craft Beer and continues with stops at ViBe District eateries such as Esoteric, Commune and Three Ships Coffee and arts hot spots including 17th Street Marketplace, Benevolent Design Co. and Igor’s Custom. Tour participants sample food and drinks, experience the art and learn about the culture of the ViBe District, an area created to promote, support, connect and inspire the creative industries to boost the local economy, grow jobs and enhance quality of life. Ten percent of Arts + Eats tour tickets sales get donated to public art projects in the district.

“We are truly excited to offer visitors a unique, guided tour of the excellent culinary arts located here in the ViBe Creative District.” says Kate Pittman, executive director of the ViBe Creative District. “This walking tour will also highlight the public art projects that make this neighborhood so vibrant.”
