ODU partners with Lolly’s to introduce official ice cream
If you’ve been to an ODU athletic event in recent years, chances are you’ve gotten a sweet introduction to the popular “Ice Cream and Cake” tradition in which fans and cheerleaders dance to the song of the same title by the Buckwheat Boyz. Well, you can now get a taste of the fun with a cool new treat.
The University has partnered with locally based Lolly’s Creamery to create Ice Cream and Cake, a flavorful ode to the nearly 20-year tradition featuring a sweet cream base swirled with ODU blue-tinted ooey gooey butter cake custom-mixed just for Monarch Nation.
The flavor is now available at locations on Colley Avenue in Norfolk and in the ViBe district and at Loehmann’s Plaza near Town Center in Virginia Beach. A portion of proceeds from the sales of Ice Cream and Cake licensed ice cream will support scholarships for ODU students.
