Virginia Beach’s 12th craft brewery, Vibrant Shore Brewing Company, is set to open at the Oceanfront’s ViBe Creative District in June 2018. The 2,584 square-foot property located at 505 18th St. will feature a tasting room, indoor and outdoor seating areas and a manufacturing space equipped with a 10-barrel Deutsche beverage brewing system.
Owner Rhett Rebold plans to expand the existing property, currently occupied by the CrossFit gym, Red Flag Athletics, with a rear addition and 609-square-foot rooftop deck. The matching rear addition will serve as a walk-in cooler, malt storage room and a low-pressure boiler room.
In support of Virginia Beach’s thriving craft brewery community, the Virginia Beach Development Authority has provided Vibrant Shore Brewing with a $20,000 Economic Development Investment Program grant based on the company’s capital investment, which includes the real estate, furniture, fixtures, machinery and tools of the present building space.
“This is a great new addition to the ViBe Creative District and a great re-use of an existing property,” remarks Warren D. Harris, Virginia Beach Economic Development director.
Rebold shared his excitement about opening his business in the city’s flourishing ViBe Creative District. “We’re especially eager to join the artists and other creatives who have such a strong sense of interesting, well-established businesses there,” says Rebold. “Vibrant Shore Brewing Company hopes to blend the fine art of brewing with our commitment to promote, grow and serve as an integral part of the vibrant, local visual and acoustic arts community.”
