Head Football Coach for Old Dominion University

Pet: Kodiak, 3, Saint Bernard

It’s a big move for a big dog. But Kodiak the Saint Bernard is finally getting adjusted to his new life in Norfolk since owner Ricky Rahne transplanted from Pennsylvania along with his family to take on the head coaching position for ODU Football after six seasons at Penn State. “At first, he wasn’t sure about Virginia,” Ricky says, “because it was a little warm for him, but now he loves it here. He is even getting better at going on long walks along the Elizabeth River.” While Dad is happy to finally get his players on the practice field after this year of uncertainty—to mentoring and molding his student athletes—Kodiak is just happy to get his belly rubbed.
