Sleek lines, classic silhouettes and statement accents prove less is sometimes so much more
We are seeing a return to sleek, minimal styles and straighter lines with a cleaner presentation,” says Brooke Thurman of Milk & Honey Bride in Virginia Beach of bridal fashions looking into 2025. “Also, the classic Basque waist is really trending right now.”
The Basque style is most notably identified by its drop waist and dramatic V-shape, typically paired with a ball gown or A-line silhouette. This curve-enhancing look tends to be flattering on a variety of body types, creating that timeless hourglass shape.
Stunningly simple A-line dresses with subtle detailing in classic sleeveless or off-the-shoulder designs are also easy to pair with accessories and embellishments that really stand out against a minimalist backdrop.
“It’s all about statement bows, gloves and veils elevating the look and keeping everything sophisticated,” Thurman explains.
The gowns featured here are by Colby John and Dany Tabet and are available at Milk & Honey. Look for more simply stunning bridal styles at the Coastal Virginia Weddings Showcase on January 12, 2025 from 1-4 p.m. at Founders Inn & Spa in Virginia Beach.
