A celebration of good times with Virginia wines, the sixth annual Coastal Virginia Magazine WineFest was held on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 26–27 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Nineteen wineries and cideries provided tastings while specialty vendors offered gourmet foods, arts and crafts and other unique goods.
WineFest featured a craft beer garden with a selection from Virginia breweries; live music by Joe Heilman, Mike Proffitt and Dana Silvercloud; caricature artist Bob Langston and more. A grape stomp competition was held between radio personality Some Guy Named Allen from US106.1 and Steve “Gonzo” Gonzalez from UDT-Seal Association; Emily from US106.1 and Kristen Crowley from WTKR News 3; and John and James from the Norfolk SPCA Magic Mutt calendar.
Guests received a commemorative wine glass for their tastings while featured wine and ciders were also available for purchase during the event. A portion of proceeds from this year’s WineFest will benefit The Noblemen.
A special thanks to our sponsors Colonial DJs, Premier Events, Superior Executive Transportation, Taste Virginia Tours, US106.1, WTKR News 3 and Virginia Tourism for the LOVE letters.
