The Sitio Hotel Opens  in Virginia Beach 

The Sitio, a 20-room boutique hotel, opened in March at Atlantic Park, Virginia Beach’s retail, dining, and entertainment district anchored by the Wavegarden Cove surf lagoon. The Sitio, at 365 18th St., introduces a distinct design-forward hospitality experience to the Oceanfront, blending surf culture, contemporary design, art, music, and curated year-round programming. “With its thoughtful design and elevated approach to comfort and hospitality, The Sitio is unlike anything else at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront,” said Brittany Baer Albert, development and operations manager for Venture Realty Group, developer of Atlantic Park. “Set against the vibrant backdrop of Atlantic Park and within footsteps of the Atlantic Park Surf lagoon, the hotel is uniquely positioned to provide seamless access to dining, retail, entertaining, and surf experiences not found anywhere else.”

Vintage Market Moves to Main Street in Smithfield 

The Spring Country Vintage Market on May 2 has moved to Main Street in downtown Smithfield. This event features 75+ vendors with vintage, antique, recycled, repurposed, vintage-inspired, coastal, and country farmhouse items. For more information, go to genuinesmithfieldva.com.

Shows in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake 

The Car Club Council of Hampton Roads listed three auto shows on the way in May. May 2: Windsor Oaks Elementary School Car Show, 3800 Van Buren Drive, Virginia Beach. May 9: 6th Annual Rollin’ with the Knights Custom Car Show, Church of the Ascension, 4853 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. May 16:  Fourth Annual Spring Car Show, Real Life Church, 900 Centerville Turnpike N, Chesapeake. Bread & Butter on the Menu in Onancock 

Bread & Butter, a restaurant “where globally inspired flavors meet elevated comfort food,” opened in February at 45 King St., Onancock. Executive chef and owner Shannon Andes’ menu brings together house-made pastas, creative pizzas, fresh seafood, and bold starters that blend international influences with familiar favorites. From red curry mussels and scallops and grits to hanger steak with chili crunch

Pizza Pies and Sweet Pies in Williamsburg 

Pie & Dine, a new chapter of the former Jamestown Pie Company, has opened at 7103 Pocahontas Trail in Williamsburg. The menu includes artisan pizzas, house-baked sweet and savory pies, and Mediterranean dishes from the grill and oven. For more information, go to facebook.com/pieanddine

Wine Opener in Williamsburg 

Ricky’s Wine Bar opened in March at 501 Prince George St., Williamsburg. The bar offers a curated selection of European and Virginia wines by the glass and bottle. Chef Riccardo Rinaldi has more than 20 years of culinary experience, including work in several Michelin-starred restaurants in the United States. For more information,

DINNER 

Freedom 250 Event in Hampton 

Hampton will commemorate America’s 250th anniversary with a fully immersive historical dining experience. The Freedom 250 Dinner on May 29 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center will transport guests back to 1776—exploring the sights, flavors, and cultural spirit of the Revolutionary era. Crafted in partnership with Hampton VA250, the convention center, Hampton City Schools, and Hampton Master Gardeners, this event will highlight local talent, history, and community connection.
