Known for his in-your-face personality and signature spiky hair, Emmy-Award winning Chef, author and Food Network personality Guy Fieri is heating things up at the Waterside District in Norfolk with his new BBQ-inspired hideaway, Guy Fieri’s Smokehouse.
The new restaurant offers a comfortable atmosphere with exposed brick and family style booths surrounding an extended bar space. The menu also has plenty of BBQ options and is sure to make any burger lover happy, including the palate tempting Bacon, Mac and Cheese burger, which won the Big Burger Bash in New York City. Fieri shared that they sell 500–600 of these in his Las Vegas restaurant location each day. Cooked hot and fast, the burger is topped with bacon, mac and cheese and placed between a garlic butter toasted bun with thin sliced pickles and onions, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and a little of his special vinaigrette. “Every aspect of the burger needs love and attention,” says Fieri.
If burgers aren’t your go-to, we recommend the Sashimi Tuna Tacos. When first designing these, Fieri says he is always looking for texture and balance. These are topped with a wasabi crème and encased in a wonton taco shell, and they sure are delicious.
With just a first tasting of its BBQ, burgers and tacos, the smokehouse is sure to be a centerpiece for Norfolk's culinary scene and a hit once it opens.
