As a pioneer of gluten-free brews and with a location in Norfolk and now a new Pilot House in Virginia Beach, Smartmouth Brewing Company announces the addition of two gluten-free beers to their summer line-up. Just released on tap is the Happy Life Belgian Wit, a citrus libation inspired by the desire of Head Brewer Jimmy Loughran to craft a gluten-free beer for his wife.
Happy Life Belgian Wit is Smartmouth’s first beer to be brewed with 100 percent gluten-free ingredients. The ale is made with all-natural millet, buckwheat and oats and enhanced with fresh orange peel and Indian coriander, giving the beer a fresh, citrus aroma and hint of spice on the palate.
Grains for the Belgian Wit were milled off-site at a certified gluten-free facility and were ground with fresh yeast to diminish the chances of gluten production.
Joining Happy Life and Smartmouth's series of gluten-free beers is Crowdsource, a passionfruit Hefeweizen released just in time for summer.
