Dough Boy’s popular WAVE is part calzone and part pizza
Innovation is key for any successful business, even one that has been around since 1989. The popular Oceanfront restaurant Dough Boy’s—locally-owned and operated by Stacy and George Kotarides—dropped in on a big one when they recently introduced THE WAVE, an ingenious combo of calzone and pizza.
The DB WAVE Calzone Pizza is a signature Dough Boy’s creation that features “a calzone wave crashing onto a Dough Boy’s Original Pizza.” Made-to-order from scratch, half of THE WAVE is hand-folded dough with ingredients packed inside like a calzone, and the other half is topped like a traditional pizza.
This deliciously cheesy idea has been a huge hit with visitors and locals alike. There’s The Classic WAVE with pepperoni, ham and Italian sausage with cheeses folded into the wave half and pepperoni and mozz on the pizza half. Then there’s The Pipeline WAVE with bacon, spinach and Roma tomatoes in the calzone and the same toppings on the pizza. And, if your crew is hungrier than a Great White, try the Tsunami WAVE with all the meats—pepperoni, Italian sausage, ham, steak and meatball. The WAVE is available at both Dough Boy’s locations.
