Spicy margarita by the fireplace, anyone? If you’re looking to escape the winter weather this year, look no further than oo-Lah Cocktails. Pop the tab on these locally made, ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails and you’ll be one sip away from paradise.

Drinking Buddies: Trevor Spiers and Chris Klein debuted Oo-Lah cocktails in July.

Oo-Lah Cocktails debuted in July 2024 with Virginia Beach locals Chris Klein and Trevor Spiers at its helm. The duo’s flagship flavors were a sell-out hit, and now, with the help of Pretty Ugly Distributors, all four sips can be found in popular watering holes like The Porch and The Back Deck in Virginia Beach and Norfolk’s Jack Brown’s.

For Klein and Spiers, the ready-to-drink cocktails are a culmination of years of friendship and a mutual desire to give back to the Coastal Virginia community.

“We met at the Cavalier Country Club in 2021,” Klein explains. “Our shared love for golf, rum, cigars and travel evolved into conversations about doing business together. Our significant others thought we were just full of words, until about one year and a ton of research later, we hatched the idea to start an RTD business.”

Klein in particular is no stranger to business development. After spending nearly three decades in the television industry in sales and management roles, Klein launched GreenLight Mobile, an authorized dealer of Cricket Wireless, and introduced the Texas-based Kolache Factory to the 757. Spiers, a former Marine, brings a wealth of interpersonal communication skills that help bring oo-Lah’s “kickback” spirit to life.

The locally and veteran-owned business is excited to soon expand its production from Hollywood, Florida to Chesapeake in early 2025.

“We also have some exciting new flavors that we are working on that are reminiscent of the kickback lifestyle we all enjoy here in Coastal Virginia,” says Klein. “We have two other flavors in production, as well as a local favorite, the Transfusion.”

Until then, enjoying kicking back and sipping on oo-Lah’s tropically inspired pours.
