Art Studio on the Boulevard celebrated the grand opening of its new Fine Art Gallery with a statewide juried exhibition The Artist’s Muse. As a full service art studio that provides fine art classes and creative outlets to meet the needs of both children and adults in Virginia Beach, Art Studio on the Boulevard opened its Fine Art Gallery in celebration of the studio’s 10-year anniversary.
Twenty-five works of art by 20 artists from across Virginia were selected for the exhibition. During the opening reception on Nov. 9, owner Kimberlei Barrigar-Harrell presented winning participants with first, second and third place awards as well as three honorable mentions. Devi Anne Moore was named the first place winner for “Unmasked”; David Hollander was named the second place winner for “Weather Report, Suite 9”; and Bethany Houston was named the third place winner for “Stoic.” “Rick” by Devon Lawrence, “Pink Clouds I” by Doreen Starling and “Sunrise” by Jim Whalen were all given honorable mentions.
