Big Ugly Brewing, Chesapeake’s first and only craft brewery, is coming to Virginia Beach on Jan. 31. The opening of the brewery's new retail-only joint, Everything Ugly, will share a space through a partnership with the famed Eagles Nest Rockin’ Country Bar at Hilltop.
Although Big Ugly’s Virginia Beach spot will not brew on-site like its Chesapeake counterpart, co-owners Jim Lantry and Shawn Childers intend to keep the same laid-back and vintage garage feel at the new location. Everything Ugly will include both an indoor bar area as well as an expansive outdoor patio, perfect for special events.
Everything Ugly’s bar will feature 16 taps dedicated to serving craft beers associated with Big Ugly’s distributor, Pretty Ugly Distribution. In addition to Big Ugly beers, Everything Ugly will serve brews from MoMac Brewing Company, The Oozlefinch Craft Brewery, Benchtop Brewing, Rip Rap Brewing Company, Bull Island Brewing Company and Bearded Bird Brewing Company.
Beyond the beers on tap, Everything Ugly will serve brewery-exclusive dishes as well as pizza, wings and more listed on Eagles Nest’s full menu.
Everything Ugly will be located at 600 Nevan Rd., Virginia Beach. A special grand opening event is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 4 from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. For further details, visit Big Ugly’s Facebook event page.
