On May 4, The Cavalier Hotel celebrated the 145th Kentucky Derby with Derby Day at The Cavalier. Guests dressed in dapper Derby attire and enjoyed the Kentucky Derby viewing party on the Great Lawn of the iconic Virginia Beach hotel. The event also featured live entertainment by Liana Dagmar, classic Derby-style cuisine and Tarnished Truth Mint Juleps, AVA Oaks Lily cocktails and a cigar bar by Emerson's Cigars.

Local celebrities Robert Boyd, reporter with 13News Now; Anita Blanton, anchor for WAVY-TV 10; and Ashley Horner, fitness influencer, judged the variety of Derby Day fashions sported by guests. Paul McLean and Sarah Shelton were named as the best dressed of the day, while Linda Fussell was recognized for wearing the best Derby Day hat.
