East Meets West at This Wedding Photo Shoot at Pagoda in Norfolk

Photography by Dragon Studio; Styling by Misty Saves the Day

We’ve got a secret garden to share—a place where East meets West, and where you can feel transported to another world yet also be treated to panoramic views of some of Downtown Norfolk’s favorite local spots. Our gorgeous gowns looked breathtaking here, floating around Norfolk’s Pagoda and surrounding Oriental Garden.

Located on the waterfront in Freemason Harbor, the Taiwanese Pagoda was given as a gift to the city in 1989 to honor the Asian country’s trading ties with Virginia. We showed off our gowns both inside and out to fully display the intricate Chinese ornamentation and architecture, but the true magic happened at dusk, when we led our bride and groom outside for an ultra-romantic sunset over the Elizabeth River. This secret is definitely not safe with us—we couldn’t help but share.
