Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Unveils Multimillion-Dollar Redesign

Sheraton Norfolk Waterside, the port city’s only waterfront hotel, recently unveiled a series of multimillion-dollar renovations. Inspired by the nearby Elizabeth River and Norfolk’s rich naval history, the 468-room hotel showcases contemporary, nautical décor that extends from the main lobby to the 1,100-square-foot Presidential Suite.

Flanking the walls of the rejuvenated Sheraton Norfolk Waterside are seaside hues of blue, white and gray. Adding a pop of modernity to the 1976 building are gold pillows and metallic accents along with a floor-to-ceiling fireplace fitted with Italian marble.

Also new to the lobby is The Market, a 24-hour snack bar for hotel guests. Other high-end eats and handcrafted cocktails await in the Sheraton’s brand-new Waterside Seafood Company restaurant. Expansive views of the harbor complement a sunrise breakfast or post-dinner brew in the restaurant’s nautical dining room, which is open daily from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.

In guest rooms, the Sheraton Signature Sleep Experience remains, but with updated amenities. Select rooms offer step-out balconies with sweeping views of the harbor and city skyline.

Doubling in size is the 24-hour fitness center equipped with top-of-the-line ellipticals, treadmills, bicycles and weight stations. One of the fitness center’s glass walls also overlooks the hotel’s outdoor pool.

Capping off the restorations are the refurbished Club Lounge for club-level concierge suites and the redesigned Riverwalk Ballroom featuring blue glass lighting fixtures, an al fresco veranda and 46,000 square feet of meeting space shared between two levels.
